The reason I haven't posted in so long is because I couldn't find my camera charger so I could get the pictures off. Today I decided to organize my desk and look for it. I finally found it in the camera box right where I put it so I wouldn't loose it. Ha!
The happy toothless grin!
In January Bella lost her first tooth and was sooo excited! It surprised me that I was a little sad about the whole thing, My baby is growing up! It makes me want to savor every moment with my kids (and husband). Each moment is a blessing to be treasured.
Some people have asked how home schooling is going ~
Well, Bella and I both love it. She loves it because she gets my one on one attention, she gets to play fun learning games on the computer, paint, do crafts, pick what subject she wants to do first, take a break when she needs it, and she just loves to learn. I also think she likes having a more relaxed schedule and not being rushed out the door in the morning. She loves it that her teacher calls her and sends her free kids meal certificates in the mail all the time. I don't think there is anything she doesn't like about it and she hasn't asked to go to school with the other kids once. In fact, I ask her if she wants to and she begs, "No, I want to do school at home."
I love it because I get to spend more time with Bella then I would if she went to school, because she loves it and it's not too hard to get her to do it, she has plenty of time to practice the piano and take gymnastics, I don't have to rush her out the door in the morning, all the lessons are planned and it's very easy to guide her along (I'm learning a lot myself :). I love the curriculum. She can go at her own pace. She's already half way through first grade math and almost done with kindergarten phonics and will be moved up to first grade phonics soon. I can keep doing it in the summer if I want, which I like because it gives us productive activities to do. k12.com provides us with so many awesome learning supplies. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming and I wonder if I'll be able to keep doing it, but then we have a good day and I love it again. I'm still not sure what we'll do in the future, but for now this is working for us.
I haven't been on blogger in awhile. I think it is great that k12 is working out so well & I'm proud of you for doing what YOU felt was best for Bella and your family. There is a lot of pressure out there to do things like everyone else.
